With new skincare products going viral almost every week, it can be difficult to understand why one serum costs considerably more than another—especially when the labels appear to feature similar ingredients.

We understand the temptation to compare products based on price alone. Affordable skincare absolutely has its place, and a higher price does not automatically make a product better. But when it comes to advanced peptide formulations, what matters is not simply whether an ingredient appears on the label. Its concentration, quality, compatibility with the rest of the formula and the way the finished product is manufactured and protected all make a difference.

At Copper Skin Collective, we never set out to create the cheapest peptide serum on the market. We set out to create a thoughtfully formulated, high-quality serum that we would genuinely want to use ourselves.

More Than a Trending Ingredient

Copper peptides have become increasingly popular in skincare, but not all copper peptide products are created equally.

Seeing Copper Tripeptide-1 on an ingredient list does not tell you how much has been included or how the entire formula has been developed around it. Some brands choose not to disclose their concentrations, which can make it difficult for customers to compare products meaningfully.

Transparency has always been important to us. Our Multi-Peptide Renewal Serum contains 1% pure Copper Tripeptide-1 (GHK-Cu), supported by a carefully selected blend of additional peptides and skin-conditioning ingredients:

Peptides are complex ingredients. They need to be incorporated into a balanced formula alongside ingredients that complement one another and help create a product that is both effective and enjoyable to use.

Our serum was developed here on the Gold Coast, Australia, with our experienced peptide specialist chemist. The formulation process involved careful development, testing and refinement to ensure the ingredients worked well together and that the final serum met the standards we had set for it.

In fact, our chemist and her husband both use our serum religiously—something we are incredibly proud of, considering she understands exactly what goes into developing a high-quality peptide formulation.

This is not a generic, ready-made formula selected from a catalogue and placed into our own packaging. It was created specifically for Copper Skin Collective and reflects the type of product we wanted our brand to represent.

Packaging Is Part of the Formulation

Beautiful packaging matters, but its purpose should extend beyond appearance.

Our serum is housed in an airtight, UV-protected airless pump bottle. This helps limit unnecessary exposure to air, light and direct contact during everyday use, while also allowing the serum to be dispensed cleanly and consistently.

Choosing specialised packaging costs more than using a standard dropper bottle, but protecting the integrity of the formula was far more important to us than selecting the least expensive option.

Every detail—from the formula to the bottle—has been considered as part of the complete product.

Why We Don’t Compete on Price Alone

Producing a high-quality serum involves choices. Brands can reduce costs by using lower levels of premium ingredients, selecting standard packaging, working from an existing base formula or focusing on large-scale production.

Our decisions have been guided by quality rather than by creating the lowest possible retail price.

We created Copper Skin Collective as two Gold Coast women and mums who wanted more from our skincare as we began experiencing the visible changes that naturally come with ageing.

We weren’t interested in chasing every new trend or creating a product supported by clever marketing alone. We wanted to build something based on transparency, considered formulation and ingredients selected at concentrations we could confidently share.

As a small business, we are closely involved in every part of the brand. We speak directly with our customers, listen to their experiences and personally care about every bottle that leaves us.

To us, the word “premium” should mean more than beautiful branding or a higher price tag. It should be reflected in the formulation, ingredients, concentrations, manufacturing, packaging and the integrity of the people behind the product.

We will never claim that the most expensive skincare is always the best, or that more affordable products cannot have value. We simply encourage customers to look beyond viral claims and front-label ingredients and ask:

What is actually inside the product, how has it been formulated, and is the brand transparent about what I am buying?
